Singapore is an island off Malaysia and a melting pot of cultures. There are many neighbourhoods to visit that offer an insight to the variety of cultures that has shaped Singapore. There is Little India, Chinatown and Haji Lane. Each little neighbourhood has its own charm and unique architecture, it’s the kind of city where traditional meets modern.
The city is easy to get around in and be prepared for the heat and humidity, there are many shopping malls to peruse and you can definitely cool off with a Singapore Sling. One of the best places for traditional Singapore Slings is the Raffles Hotel, this iconic colonial building has it’s own underground city of shops. It’s definitely worth a visit.
Being a tropical country you can expect some of the most lush, green and UNESCO World heritage garden sites. Spend the day walking around the Singapore Botanic Gardens and Gardens by the Bay in Marina Sands. Marina Sands is also well known for the famous rooftop pool at Marina Bay Hotel, an infinity pool looking over Singapore, simply breathtaking.
